Dayna Grubb, Founder
Throughout her life, California native
Dayna Grubb has found creative ways to combine her passions for art, fashion, and business. After
graduating from UC Berkeley with a fine arts degree, she studied business at the San Francisco Fashion
Institute before moving to New York, where she worked with clothing designer J. Morgan Puett. She left
NYC for Seattle in 1993 and opened Ardour, a clothing boutique showcasing the talents of emerging independent
designers. Five years later, she opened Ped as a companion shoe store. |
 |
| Both businesses attracted throngs of followers and received national
recognition in numerous magazines and online sites, including
DailyCandy.com, Lucky Magazine, InStyle,
and Harpers’ Bazaar. In 2001, with the help of her tech wizard husband, Terry Stotz, Dayna
launched www.pedshoes.com as a way to reach out-of-town customers and expand Ped’s market. In 2006,
she decided to close the brick-and-mortar shops, relocate with Terry to California, and devote all her
energy to making www.pedshoes.com a wonderful and unique online shopping experience. She has maintained
her commitment to featuring designers who take a hands-on approach to their work and who practice social
and environmental ethics in creating their products. |
 |
| In addition to loving her work (and Terry), Dayna also enjoys good food,
fine wine, gardening, traveling, and taking long walks with golden retriever Ella Mae and mini dachshund Lulu
Parmesan. Each year, Dayna and Terry donate a percentage of Ped’s sales to nonprofit animal welfare organizations,
the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross, and Vitamin Angels. |
