The air may be icy and the tree limbs bare, but daylight has once again started to stretch out, which means two things: 1) Spring is just around the corner; and 2) We need to make space in the warehouse for all the warm-weather styles about to arrive! The answer? Ped’s wonderful Winter Sale, of course!
We clean house, and you clean up! What could be better? Those boots you’ve been pining for since August now have a price to warm your spirit (and tootsies) during winter’s chilly days! Here are just a few of the temptations:
You’ve probably noticed blue is one of the IT colors this season. We’re especially fond of it in Accessoire’s Martiza:
The classic oxford gets extra oomph from a wedge heel, which also happens to be ultra comfortable! And, gals, three words: Blue. Suede. Shoes! Totally rockin’ at $328, the Martiza brings down the house at $199!
The other must-have color this year is grey, which Cydwoq crafts into a stellar low boot, aptly named the Vision:
A little vintage, with its cool button-up closure, a bit modern rocker chick, and a whole lot chic, comfortable, and go-with-everything, the Vision will wind up on your feet every day! Sweet at $342, it’s utterly delectable at $268!
Needless to say, black never goes out of style. But it certainly does get amped up in Chie Mihara’s Maison:
Oooh-la-la, what a hot heeled number—you will leave a trail of sparks in your wake wherever you walk! Saucy at $578, its sex appeal is irresistible at $289!
Another absolutely to-die-for boot is Vic Matie’s Olivia Boot:
The leather workmanship is truly stunning! (The Italians do know a thing or two about crafting fabulous footwear!) Worth every penny at $648, this masterpiece of a boot is a veritable steal at $299! (You clever art thief!)
Another one of our favorite tall boots this season is Trippen’s Nightingale:
The wine color of the supple nubuck is luscious! Plus, we’re wild about the red inside zipper! Trippen is always so good at fun and funky details! A treat at $448, it’s mana from heaven for your feet at $348!
If you’re looking for something dressier and perhaps a tad more understated, the answer is Coclico’s fabulous Beckett Mary Jane:
The perfect shoe for all occasions, the Beckett may be quiet, but it still exudes style for miles! Wonderful at $338, it’s even prettier at $268!
Of course, it wouldn’t be a spectacular sale without offering a break on everyone’s favorite, Fiorentini + Baker. Grab ‘em while they last, gals, because we’ve reduced the price of the ever-popular Emmy Boot:
So tough-girl chic, this boot will become the backbone of your wardrobe! Spectacular at $528, it’s nothing short of WOW at $422. (Wow, wow, wow!)
And those are just the beginning of the bargains! So jump over to Ped’s Sale pages for some sweet pickin’s guaranteed to provide a wintry pick-me-up! (And stay tuned for the garden of spring styles about to burst into bloom!)

Ped fans, I hope you’re enjoying drooling over all the new styles we’ve been adding to the site. We’re posting shoes and boots as fast as we can unpack the boxes pouring into the warehouse!
Of course, sometimes we have to stop and simply admire the gorgeousness of all the designs! The materials this season are to die for! We’re especially excited about the resurgence of suede! It’s so nice to reach down and feel its delicious softness on your feet.
Here are just a few of the wonderful suede styles that have us oohing and aahing (and petting the shoes!) at Ped HQ.
Since they’re French, it’s no surprise that Accessoire excels in creating chic designs out of luxurious suede. Case in point, the Okinawa:
Ooh la la—emerald green suede in a re-imagined mary jane accented by a fleurette on the toe? Color me love-struck! (Plus, the suede-covered platform sole is so modern!)
Another charmer from Accessoire is the versatile Odin:
We adore all the richly colored suede shoes and boots this season, but everybody needs a basic black shoe! And as the fun and feminine Odin proves, basic does not have to be boring!
On the other hand, when it’s time to step out and make a statement, you can always count on Chie Mihara to offer a sensational way to do it—this season in suede:
Oh my! We think you’ll agree Chie has really outdone herself with the drop-dead gorgeous Frunera heel! We are down for the count for this beauty in knockout red suede, but Ped also offers the Frunera in seductive navy suede.
If you’re looking for a great pair of suede boots, this is definitely your year! There are so many great ones from which to choose, like Chie’s Xolita:
We love everything about this lace-up, from the pinked edges of the placket to the combination of grommets and hooks to Chie’s famously comfortable anatomical footbed!
Coclico is another line that has the suede ankle boot down to a science! How beautifully designed is this Neale?
So sophisticated! Hidden elastic under the cuff makes for a glove-like fit, and the wooden sole is both modern and comfortable.
Another luscious suede number from Coclico is the Rilke:
Grey is the go-to neutral this season, and the Rilke’s particular shade is simply lovely. Plus, the feminine tie at the back of the ankle adds the perfect detail!
Of course, Fiorentini + Baker includes suede in its lineup of boots for fall. We are especially smitten with F+B’s suede version of the Ella Boot:
We love a boot that offers options, and the Ella gives you the choice of wearing it zipped up to mid-calf height or unzipped slightly and folded down to make a cuffed low boot! (The back zipper is so sexy!)
But for sheer beauty and turn-every-head impact, the clear winner in the suede boot category is Vic Matie’s Chloe:
WOW! This beautifully made boot makes us eager for chilly days because its faux fur lining is so inviting! We like how you can let it peek out at the top! Meanwhile the strap spiraling around your calf and ankle gives this boot unmistakable style. Truly a suede boot to treasure!
And there are many more touchable suede boots and shoes waiting to be admired at Ped’s main site! This season the cutting edge is oh so soft!

Can you believe the longest day of the year has already come and gone? Nevertheless, there’s still plenty of summer to enjoy, so we thought that as the days grow shorter, we’d shorten our prices! That way Ped fans can look like sensational in new shoes while reveling in the sand and sunsets, and still have a few dollars to spare for a summertime cocktail or two!
Here are just a few of the lovelies with even lovelier, lower prices!
Let’s start tall for those who love heels and gradually bring it down to earth for gals who are fond of flats. One designer who knows how to do heels is Chie Mihara, as evidenced by the Bankok:
Oo-la-la, such a sexy dominatrix of a buckle-licious sandal! Utterly rock ‘n’ roll at
$428, it burns down the house at $342!
Another high-heeled hottie is Coclico’s Lucifer:
The design of the straps is so ingenious, and the sculpted wooden sole wows with its artistic lines! A looker at
$364, it’s a knockout at $289!
Bringing the heel height down, Vialis amps up the sex appeal with the Belladonna:
Smoking hot, this sandal offers tough-girl beauty with buckle straps that dip down behind the heel and a zipper that rises up the back! Sassy at
$378, it sizzles at $299!
Another beautiful heel that calls attention to your well-turned ankle is Fiorentini + Baker’s Tally:
Pretty as a picture at
$378, the Tally is utterly gorgeous at $299!
Lower still in terms of heel height, Vialis offers the clean-lined Maribel that is as versatile as it is chic:
Simple yet packing a lot of punch, the Maribel stands on a heel that’s an ultra-wearable 2″. Great bang for your buck at
$238, it’s even more of a stylish steal at $190!
But we know some of you like to keep your feet firmly planted on the ground, in which case Couple Of offers the fresh Lily ballet flat to help you pirouette through summer:
Isn’t the color of the suede delicious? A tasty treat at
$238, the Lily is even sweeter at $149!
Another fantastic flat that let’s you walk the cutting edge is Vic Matie’s Elda:
Tough, sexy, and artistic in equal measure, the Elda wowed at
$438, but it’s an even bigger rave at $349!
And those are only the beginning of the fantastic prices waiting for you at Ped’s main site. So, cool your heels in some cool-priced shoes from Ped!

Yesterday I told you about the social side of my March trip to Paris and Milan. Today I’ll fill you in on the trends and style statements I saw at shoe shows in France and Italy. Ped fans, you have a lot to look forward to in the fall! But the GREAT news is Ped is on its game—much of what will be all the rage in a few months is already on the shelves at the Ped warehouse!
Perhaps the most noticeable trend was FUR! It was everywhere—on shoes, on boots, on vests, hanging off of bags, more than I’ve ever seen. Just to whet your appetite, I ordered a version of Cydwoq’s gorgeous Podium boot with fur panels.
That said, ankle boots will continue to hold court next season, so our current version of the Podium is also right on trend:
Cydwoq’s 2″ resin heel is perfect since flats and low heels are going to be in vogue.
If you want to get a jump on the flat bootie trend, consider Vic Matie’s Euro-chic Luisa:
Another trend with staying power is men’s oxfords for women, such as Fiorentini + Baker’s terrific Eliza Oxford:
People were not only wearing their oxfords without socks in Paris and Milan, but fashionistsas were also wearing oxfords and boots with laces and buckles completely undone. All the Japanese buyers were rocking the deconstructed laceless and unbuckled look! If you have a size 36 or 37 foot, you can get ahead of the curve with the Vialis Mila, which Ped currently has on sale. (Lucky you!)
Innovative leather treatments are also going to be a hallmark of next season. Get an eyeful of the variety Cydwoq had on offer to retailers:
Ped fans can also look forward to eye-popping patterned leathers from Chie Mihara and jewel-toned suedes from Accessoire.
Regarding color trends, the new black is definitely GREY, which was all over the place in Europe in all kinds of shades. You can show off your trend-setting savvy right now by stepping out in Vic Matie’s Allegra:
You’ll be doubly cutting-edge in this slate-grey beauty since wooden soles also hold sway next fall. Expect knockout wood-soled styles from Vialis and Ellen Verbeek, too.
Given the style forecast, if you’re fortunate enough to fit into one of our remaining pairs of Ellen Verbeek’s Elise Bootie (on sale!), you’ll be right on trend on three fronts simultaneously:
Simply remove the laces, and you’ll be ultra-chic with a laceless wood-soled bootie! What could be better? And everyone will admire you for being so in the know!
Of course, everyone at Ped Central is excited about the fantastic things I ordered for fall while in Paris and Milan. But I have to say we’re also feeling pretty sassy about having so many cutting-edge styles already in the house! Advantage: Ped fans!

Here at Ped, we love organic materials—leather, wool, cotton, wood! Plus we we have a sentimental soft spot for clogs. But old-school clogs with wooden soles, are often, um, how shall we say, frumpy? And, as Ped fans know, “frumpy” and Ped simply do not mix!
Fortunately, some of our favorite designers have taken a new turn with wood, creating shoes, clogs, and sandals, where the only adjectives beginning with “f” that spring to mind are fantastic, fabulous, and FUN! Of course, each sole is meticulously cut, sculpted and sanded by hand for maximum comfort and pizazz! Behold a few of our woody favorites:
Proving a wood sole can be unbelievably chic, Ellen Verbeek’s Caressa is a total knockout!
Ellen Verbeek perfectly balances the elements—the mix of colors, the lacing in the back, and the cutout wooden wedge—for maximum impact! We especially love how the black strap circles through the cutout under the instep. So cool!
Another sexy heeled sandal with an ingenious design is Coclico’s Lucifer:
Notice how the bottom strap is actually a t-strap that ducks under the others to meet up with cutout straps at the ankle! For you gals who love adding a few inches to your height, the Lucifer‘s 4.25″ wooden heel lets you rise above the crowd, while the 1″ wooden platform up front keeps the pitch comfortable at 3.25″.
Ped’s newest line, Vic Matie, takes things in a slightly different direction by combining wooden soles with leather-wrapped heels. A beautiful example is the Allegra:
So sophisticated but also versatile, thanks to the Allegra‘s slate grey color—an ideal summer neutral. The hand-sculpted and sanded wooden sole feels wonderful against your bare skin!
Experimenting with more traditional clog construction while creating fun, kick-around-town styles, Vialis has the hippest wood in the house this season. Check out the Gabriela:
The way this sandal clog’s straps weave in and out over the toe calls to mind a fisherman’s sandal—if a fisherman’s sandal were super-stylish and sassy! Another thing we love is the meticulous way the leather is stapled to the sole. Craftsmanship!
If you prefer nails to staples, then take a look at Vialis’s cute-as-can-be Delfina slingback:
So much to love from the sweet lacing to the “asphalto” suede (a stellar greyish brown with just a smidgeon of green) to the padded insole! The Delfina is ideal for wearing with summer skirts and walking shorts!
Of course, if you’re looking for the ultimate clog, one that pays homage to the classic style while taking it to a new level, then look no further than Fiorentini + Baker’s Zilla Clog:
Wow. Just wow. Ever fabulous, Fiorentini + Baker has taken the basic architecture of an old-school clog and made it irresistibly sexy and sophisticated! The Zilla‘s brass studding is simply to die for! Wow.
As always, there are plenty more wood-soled beauties to admire at Ped’s main site! So, wouldn’t you like a wooden shoe?
(Psst, this week’s Sweet Treat is also as comfortable as they come: Trippen’s foot-loving Casanova! Why not give in to Casanova’s charms?)
