Dayna’s career in fashion began when she turned 15, at B.B. Gear in Oakland, California, where she found early inspiration under her first boss, Barbara Blumberg. Dayna loved working in a boutique setting and helping women pick out clothing and accessories all throughout high school. While attending UC Berkeley and the SF Fashion Institute, she worked for her favorite designer, CP Shades, in San Francisco. She remained with CP Shades for seven years, working for David and Denise Weinstein. She gained experience at their Sausalito headquarters and in retail locations across Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Boston, and New York.

Living in New York City was a dream she next followed in 1992. Dayna managed a beautiful shop in SOHO for designer J. Morgan Puett and did wholesale sales for Ed Mandelbaum’s showroom, The Aubrey Company. Then a few months later, she got a call from CP Shades: "Would you like to move to Seattle to open a shop for us?" Yes! This opportunity in Seattle along with her other retail consulting experiences, paved the way for her to open Ardour in 1993 and PED in 1998.

Fourteen years in Seattle was an incredible experience where she met amazing people and life long friends. Although saying goodbye was difficult, they sold their house and business, moved back to California with her husband, Terence, and their dogs, and started Ped.com. After a year in Santa Barbara and 14 years in the Berkeley hills, she now lives in her happy place: Lake Tahoe, surrounded by the lake's beauty, copious trees, and mountain living. Dayna loves her daily hikes with her dogs, buying for Ped and photographing the products for the website. When you email or call, Dayna often helps you herself because customer satisfaction with Ped products is very important to her. While work / life balance has always been important to her, Dayna loves her occasional trips to Milan, Paris or New York for trade shows and to New Zealand and Costa Rica to visit family.
