Get red-y for fall!

Thursday, August 7th, 2014

Whoa, wasn’t it yesterday that it was mid-May? The summer feels like it’s zooming by in overdrive, Ped fans, and just around the bend, autumn will be upon us with chilly nights and changing leaves.

Honestly, we love the latter–yellow, orange, and, especially, red leaves make it worth waving goodbye to summer’s green. And what looks good on branches looks good on your limbs, too. We love red shoes any time of year, but even more so during fall. Here are some of the reds at Ped for the upcoming season:

A perfect shoe for strolling through the rest of summer and then kicking up the leaves in fall is the Trippen Poppy:

The flower on the toe is the star of the show, but the ankle strap adds sex appeal to this comfortable flat, making it red hot and ready!

If you need something dressier (but just as comfortable), consider Cydwoq’s wine-colored Calamity:

The red is rich yet understated, so the Calamity plays well with lots of things in your closet! We love all the subtle curves in the design, including the teardrop cutout.

For those of you who prefer to go bold when you go girly, get an eyeful of Chie Mihara’s flirty red Geraldine:

Fun and unabashedly feminine, this suede heel winks at your admirers with gold leather lids and black leather lashes!

As soon as the air gets crisp, boots become frequent fliers in our daily dressing. Put some red in your tread with Cydwoq’s new Pitstop:

Between the textured ruddy leather and the all-rivet construction, we don’t know which we love more! Plus, the Pitstop‘s Vibram lug sole means you can wear this boot out and about, no matter what the weather!

Another eye-popping red boot with details to make your fans ooh and aah is Trippen’s Raven:

Trippen has the art of exposed seams down to a science! You’ll spark conversations wherever you walk in this sculptural beauty.

Like your boots with a dash of height-enhancing heel? Take a gander at the gorgeousness of the Fiorentini + Baker Nelly:

The 2.5″ stacked-leather heel makes this buckle-strap boot extra badass! When you zip up the Nelly, everyone will know who’s in charge!

Of course, if you really want to pull out the stops and wear all the colors of fall–including red!–step into the sexy Cydwoq Involve:

Say it with us: “WOW!” The hand-painted “Picasso” leather, which has a subtle metallic sheen, is truly a work of art! What a beautiful way to walk into chilly days!

So, get ahead in red, and add your own color to fall!

Half Time!

Tuesday, July 29th, 2014

Just like at many sports events, half time at Ped offers the chance to get up and stretch your legs–in new shoes! We’re midway through our summer sale, and many of the best styles of the season are now half-price. So it’s a great time to snag that pair you’ve been hoping to score!

One design we’ve adored from the first time we saw it (and tried it on!) is Argila’s Marisol:

So much to drool over here, from the Marisol‘s pinked edges to its of-the-moment use of metallic leather to the innovative internal heel support! Crush-worthy at $428, it’s true love at $214!

Another noteworthy metallic sandal is the Trippen Eye:

Easy to wear and super sexy, the Eye‘s innovative lacing that threads behind your heel and entwines your ankle will have all eyes on you! Eye-catching at $328, it’s a total looker at $149. (You’re correct–that is more than half off! Lucky you!)

Cydwoq also combines an ankle strap with a gorgeous metallic leather in its stellar Laser sandal:

Simple but sooooo dazzling! This versatile style, which easily goes from a picnic in the park to rooftop cocktails, was sweet at $254 but is decadently delicious at $127!

If black is your go-to year-in an year-out, the Coclico Tyrion offers similar quick-change charms:

Ri-di-culously sexy on, this badass style contrasts supple leather with a natural wood heel! Tempting at $392, it’s irresistible at $196.

Trippen also takes natural wood and sculpts it into a smooth full-sole experience in the Zen sandal clog:

So much more beautiful and comfortable than clunky clogs of the past, the Zen (which also comes in red) was a jewel at $248, but it’s a diamond at $129!

Some sandals are just for summer, but others are up for going to a party any time of year, like Chie Mihara’s Amor:

Suede and leather bloom in union! The Amor was a flirt at $412, but it’s a total knockout at $206!

Speaking of shoes that span the seasons, the Cliff Dweller Canoe readily paddles from summer right into fall:

The ideal weekend shoe, this classic style gets jazzed up with hatched embossing on the luxe Italian leather (which also comes in green). Worth every cent at $268, it’s a precious commodity at $134!

But the best shoe for walking from summer into fall is hands-down (feet down?) Pep Monjo’s fantastic Marcella oxford:

This winner’s a touchdown, TKO, century, slam dunk, and home run all rolled into one! Fantastic at $392, it’s every superlative under the sun at $196! (Seriously, catch it if you can!)

There are even more ways to play in Ped’s sale section, so get in the game! You’ll make points with your bank account and walk away a champion of style!

Check out the new Chie!

Friday, July 25th, 2014

The time has come, Ped fans, to see what marvels Chie Mihara has whipped up for fall! Everyone’s favorite Spanish sorceress of style has once again designed heels to make you happy in leathers to make everyone look.

So pour yourself an ice tea or a cocktail and prepare to scroll through beauty!

The title of this post is a play on one of Chie Mihara’s most playful leather techniques this season, checkerboard weaving, which looks especially sassy on the new Uptown oxford:

How fun is this lace-up??? We especially like how the caramel leather back and dark brown leather toe complement the Uptown‘s green, cream, and chocolate checked midsection!

Chie takes her checkered ways a little higher and amps up the femininity in the gorgeous Genesis:

Ooh la la, so chic! The leather colors are eye-catching and unusual (that’s a pale sage interwoven with black in the midsection). Even though the heel is a statuesque 3″, you can comfortably wear it all day long because Chie has cleverly hidden a .5″ platform under the toe, bringing the pitch to an easy 2.5″.

The always imaginative Ms. Mihara moves her checkerboard technique in a new direction on the Dalatchi, which weaves together wool and leather:

If ever there was a bootie to stop traffic, this is it! Below the stunning woven shaft, black matte leather adds a luxe element, while the 3″ sculpted wood heel is architecturally interesting. Sister, trust us, the Dalatchi is GO!

But Chie’s checkerboard weave isn’t the only trick she has up her design sleeve this season. Take a gander at the flocked leather on the Jan:

We swoon every time we look at this modern Mary Jane! The flocked leather on the toe, which feels like suede and looks like a mini-cheetah print, is the show stealer, but also adding fuel to the fire are the Jan‘s slightly flared heel and beautifully constructed buckle strap!

Chie Mihara has the deftest touch when it comes to creating understated designs that still let your flair fly, like the Ozana:

Perfect for arguing a case in court or holding court at an art opening, the Ozana‘s luxe grey suede is subtly sexed up by its ankle strap and teeth-like fringe! Sharp and chic!

Another bold detail that’s just right without going over-the-top is the bow on  Chie Mihara’s Zulema boot:

All the lines are lean and clean, allowing the bow to be at once fem and and badass! Zip up the Zulema, and put some girly zing in your step!

But when going over-the-top is exactly what you want, we highly recommend Chie Mihara’s knockout Wiuda:

Holy hot sauce, what a looker! This purplish-brown, croc-embossed leather lace-up, with its flared heel and pointed—yet still comfortable!—toe,  would have been beautiful on its own. But Chie embellishes it with a fringed and pinked-edge black leather flower to send this femme fetale into the stratosphere of gorgeousness! Wow to the Wiuda!

Chie Mihara shoes always make us want to cha-cha out the door and down the street, so everyone can admire our beautiful feet! Believe it or not, there’s even more Chie Mihara loveliness to admire at Ped, so click on through and put  some Spanish spice in your step!

(And don’t forget to snag a bag! This week’s Sweet Treat is the Trippen Carola, which you can get for cool 20% off by clicking “be sweet to your feet” at the bottom of the box on the left of most Ped pages. When you arrive at the Carola with the “Sweet Treat ” designation, all you have to do is add it to your bag to receive the discount automatically at checkout.)

Trip the light fantastic in Trippen all-time favorites!

Friday, July 11th, 2014

Ped fans, every season Trippen comes up with new styles that wow our eyes and thrill our feet–we never know what those German geniuses will dream up next! At the same time, Trippen’s best designs remain fresh! Their looks are ever-edgy and fun, while their comfort is timeless.

We get boatloads of requests for these favorites, so we decided to celebrate mid-summer by bringing you Trippen “greatest hits”! Get ready to clap your hands and dance out the door!

When we first introduced the Trippen Fence a few years ago, we could not keep it in stock to save our lives:

Every time we’d get a new shipment, these beauties would practically fly out the door! And with good reason because they’re sliced to edgy perfection in front, while the lacing in the back gives the people behind you something to ooh and aah over! The black version is classic, but the Fence also shines in a metallic steel.

Trippen also uses its slicing technique to stellar effect in the Good:

This super-comfortable wedge is light years beyond your average Mary Jane! Plus it’s constructed from our all-time favorite “Black Ice” waxed leather. So. Very. Good!

Speaking of artistic variations on the classic Mary Jane, the Trippen Gotan is another greatest hit that’s back in the Ped house:

The off-kilter angles and exposed seams, make this shoe something to see! Get ready to launch a thousand conversations every time you step out the door!

Exposed seams are one of the signature details of many Trippen styles, but we especially love their blooming beauty on the Poppy (and the Magnolia and the Peony):

The Notte Plum version of the Poppy has proven a winner this season, so we decided to also bring it back in the wonderful Spring Green shown! Both colors are so juicy that we wish you luck in choosing between them. (You could always get both…)

Another much-loved style built on Trippen’s classic rubber outsole is the lace-a-licious Burst:

Trippen took equal parts oxford, sandal, and bootie, worked its design magic, and came up with the eye-popping and oh-so comfortable Burst! Walking the cutting edge has never been so easy!

Of course, the Burst’s lace-up goodness looks almost tame next to the wild child known as the Trippen Pull:

Fun to see and even more fun to wear, the Pull feels like a deliciously soft leather glove on your foot, while the featherweight “cups” rubber outsole keeps your steps nimble! (We adore this pine green version, but we also have the Pull in black.)

Trippen’s “cups” construction also supports the latest style to achieve Trippen all-star status: the Sleek.

Ped fans who didn’t blink might recall that we first offered this sweet style in a sunny yellow in early spring (and yes, that color is back!). But it rocketed out the door so fast it made our heads spin. So when we reordered the Sleek, we decided to also offer it in this gorgeous copper, which is ready to salsa to the end of summer and bossa nova into fall!

Tried-and-true styles are guaranteed to make your feet happy puppies during the dog days of summer ahead, so why not traipse through the rest of the season in a Trippen all-time favorite?

(And don’t forget this week’s Sweet Treat is another Trippen classic, the ever-popular Trippen Vivienne. Simply click “be sweet to your feet” at the bottom of the box on the left of most Ped pages to land at the Vivienne with the “Sweet Treat” designation. Pick your size, add it to your bag, and—voila!—receive an automatic 20% off at checkout!)

Three refreshing words: PED SUMMER SALE!

Friday, June 27th, 2014

Remember how a few months ago we were shivering and longing for leafy trees and green grass? Well, happily, we got our wish, but now we’re drenched with the sweat that comes along with summer greenery. Oh, for a little sweet relief!

Although we Pedsters can’t make the mercury fall or dehumidify the air, we can ice the prices on those summer shoes you’ve been eying since April. In fact, we’re dropping ’em like they’re hot!

Here are just a few of the refreshing deals:

One of the prettiest sandals to walk into the Ped warehouse this season is Chie MIhara’s Izan:

The ruffles are girly without being twee, and the neutral camel color allows this sweetheart to work with everything in your wardrobe. Lovely at $358, the Izan is gorgeous at $179!

Another feminine neutral that turns heads is the Cydwoq Market:

A sophisticate with a dash of panache, the Market is an all-occasion shoe that strolls comfortably through a day of work before dancing out the door for a night on the town! Impressive at $322, it’s a chic treat at $248!

Cydwoq uses the same petal-like knot closure on the easy-going Bobcat sandal:

A new design from Cydwoq, the black nubuck Bobcat is sweet yet tough (just like us). The cupped back securely holds your heel, making this an ideal summer travel shoe since you can sightsee all day and still look well-dressed for dinner. Purr-fect at $248, the Bobcat is the cat’s meow at $198!

If you prefer an open back, the Cydwoq Spear is also ready to walk anywhere you want to go:

We love the stand-alone toe ring and the lace-up closing, but we absolutely adore the stellar comfort of the 100% leather construction, which just gets better the more you wear the Spear. Ready for battle at $238, it’s a worthy road warrior at $188!

A sandal that takes lacing to a whole new style level is the fantastic Trippen Folly:

What a hot-crossed air-conditioned cutie! Plus it’s extremely practical since the lacing lets you adjust the Folly to accommodate the width of your foot. Fun at $328, the Folly is a party at $262!

If you like the wrap-around ankle strap but want to stand a little taller, consider the Trippen Ritzy:

Such a knockout! The window within the wooden heel will set tongues talking and hearts breaking! (Although you can never go wrong with black, the Ritzy is also available in an espresso version with blue edges and blue rubber on the outsole. Super cool.) Flirty at $268, the Ritzy is irresistible at $208!

Another beautiful heel that’s a steal is the gleaming Argila Vanessa:

We are gaga over the way Argila contrasts the pinked edges of the platinum leather with the smooth curves of the platinum-piped brown leather! Luminous at $428, the Vanessa sparkles at $214!

“All very nice,” you may be thinking, “but I’m a boot gal! What about a refreshing F+B boot deal?” Your wish is our command with the glorious Fiorentini + Baker Pansy:

Fantastic with floaty sundresses, the Pansy will walk you all the way through summer and right into fall! In addition to grey, the Pansy also comes in brown. Delicious at $438, the Pansy is a feast for your feet at $219! (Bet that puts a smile on your face!)

And that’s just the chillin’ tip of the sale iceberg,  so cruise over to Ped’s main site and take a dip in the cool prices! Suddenly summer got much more pleasant!

(Also, don’t miss this week’s Sweet Treat, the terrific Trippen Tough! Click “be sweet to your feet” at the bottom of the box on the left of most Ped pages to land at the Tough with the “Sweet Treat” designation. Then add it to your bag to get an automatic 20% off at checkout!)
